Hydrogen Peroxide Home Applications
Sanitizer
For a disinfectant use a 3% solution in a spray bottle. After spraying with Hydrogen Peroxide, leave for a minute and then wipe away. This will kill bacteria and viruses. Hydrogen Peroxide (HP) can be used on your chopping board, keeping it free of harmful germs and salmonella. HP can be used on most surfaces including electrical appliances.
Hydrogen Peroxide is a safe cleaning agent that leaves no chemical toxins of any kind. It simply decomposes into water and oxygen.
Hydrogen Peroxide As Food Wash
Put 40ml of 3% Hydrogen Peroxide (preferably with some Himalayan crystal salt) into a normal washing-up bowl of cool to lukewarm water. Use this to rinse meat, fish, poultry and vegetables. This will of course kill bacteria and viruses. Rinse again with plain clean water. It has been reported by some that this prolongs the life of food.
Research published by the Journal of Food and Science in 2003 showed effective results using Hydrogen Peroxide to decontaminate apples and melons that were infected with strains of E. Coli. This will apply to fish and meats containing potentially harmfull bacteria. I wash all of my fruit and vegetable this way as soon as I get home.
Hydrogen Peroxide As Dishwasher Additive
Add 2 ounces of 3% Hydrogen Peroxide to the dishwater to prevent cold and other disease causing germs from spreading, and also to give your dishes a crystal sparkle.
Hydrogen Peroxide For Laundry
Add 225ml of 3% Hydrogen Peroxide to the wash instead of your regular toxic bleach.
Hydrogen Peroxide For Fresh Blood Stains
Put 3% Hydrogen Peroxide onto the fresh blood stain and let sit for a minute. Rinse thoroughly with warm water. DO NOT use hot water as this will help set the blood. Be aware however that Hydrogen Peroxide is a bleaching agent.
Hydrogen Peroxide For Wine Stains On Carpets
Apply a 3% solution to the stain with a spray bottle or cotton bud. Rub the solution into the carpet with a sponge to make sure it's fully spread. Leave for 10-15 minutes. Then blot with a dry cloth (be sure to use a clean cloth). Remember to try this on a discreet spot of carpet to check first.
Full Room Cleaning With Hydrogen Peroxide
If you have a large room that has been affected by mould, fungus or bacteria:
"The U.S Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) listed Hydrogen Peroxide as among the substances that can be used against mould. A 3% solution used in a large pressurized sprayer can be used to apply throughout the room."
